The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Horrible takedown attempt by Turturro or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramirez, which made it look bad. Turturro looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turturro bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ramirez's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Turturro wants to take a breather but Ramirez is having none of it. Turturro not doing much here.

My spies in Blacktalians MMA inform me that Turturro has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Turturro is fighting to break Ramirez's control of his arms but Ramirez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Turturro is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ramirez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Ramirez (7) vs (4) Turturro We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Ramirez just content to control the position. Turturro prevents Ramirez from moving into mount.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Turturro's face as Ramirez controls the position. Turturro tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ramirez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Turturro tries to lock up and control but Ramirez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Ramirez controlling from mount. Turturro tries to hold on but Ramirez pushes him away. Turturro tries to reverse the position but Ramirez maintains control.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Ramirez controlling from the full mount. Turturro is working to get back to half guard.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Turturro sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Turturro wants to improve his position but Ramirez is controlling well.
Turturro wants to control but Ramirez is keeping busy and won't allow it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Turturro is looking to improve his position.
