And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 130 wins and 97 losses; Tyrone Sparxx! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Ramirez leaves Sparxx with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ramirez misses with a takedown attempt - Sparxx sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sparxx dives in and grabs Ramirez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ramirez pushes down on Sparxx's head and hops out. Sparxx looks for a takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. Ramirez tries to counter with a takedown but Sparxx is quick to defend against it. Jackson Ramirez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyrone Sparxx. Sparxx shoots in for a takedown. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ramirez wants to sweep here but Sparxx controlling him for the moment. Ramirez keeping full guard, as Sparxx tries to pass. Ramirez is looking to sweep but instead, Sparxx has passed into half guard.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Sparxx looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Ramirez wants to get back to full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sparxx is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Ramirez wants to control but Sparxx is keeping busy.
