Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luke Short (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Luke Short! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kurt King! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Short closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. King is looking for a sweep. King tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Short presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Short prevents King from getting the reversal. Short with the ground and pound from mount. King is trying to escape the mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. King is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. King bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Short not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Short has a closed guard, preventing King from standing up. King thows a big elbow that misses. King drops back, looking for a kneebar! Short looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Short looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Short! King manages to work his way to half guard, despite Short's best efforts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King is trying to get back to full guard. Short seems to be working for a kimura but King defends the submission attempt. Short is breathing heavily. King moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. King looking to hit a scissor sweep but Short is one step ahead there. King keeping moving, preventing Short from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Short wants to get up but he can't break King's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. King looking to hit a scissor sweep but Short is one step ahead there. King bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Short's guard. King passes into half guard. King is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
King is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Short gets back to full guard.
Short had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. King is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Short Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take King's back instead. King is in bad spot here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. King tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Short prevents King from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Luke Short will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
King swings and misses with a hook to the body.
King catches Short with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A telegraphed right hand from King misses the target. King scores with a shot to the body.
Short takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. King connects with a body shot. King works over Short's head and body with a nice combination. Short takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. King uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Short.
King works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. King scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. King scores with a jab. Short acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Luke Short is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. King scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Short doesn't seem bothered though. Short takes one on the button. Short takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Short takes a shot right to the bread basket. Kurt King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Short takes a jab right on the kisser.
Short uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by King.
King with a hook. King takes a swing at Short's ribcage but misses. King misses with the combination.
King lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
King lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Short at a distance.
Nice body punch from King. A combination from King does no damage. Short shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side. Short scores a takedown into full mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. King tries to reverse the position but Short maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Short lands with some strikes. King tries to get back to half guard but can't. King is squirming around, avoiding Short's attempts to control the action. King really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Short trying to control but King is having none of it. King is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King regains half guard. King regains full guard. Nicely done. King looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Short passes into side control.
Short is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King tries to get back to half guard but can't. King is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Short stops King from getting back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. King is pressing down on Short's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. King looking to hit a scissor sweep but Short is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kurt King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
King lands a jab to Short's midsection. King misses with a wild combination.
King scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Good exchange - King coming out on top. King misses with a body punch
and Short decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in King's guard. King throws his legs up looking for a submission but Short uses it to pass to side control.
King tries to improve position but can't. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Short misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
King manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. King is looking to improve his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Short on the wrong end of a nice jab. Short changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. King tries to avoid it but Short manages to keep hold of a leg and drag King to the ground. King escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. King lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. King throws a combination that misses so Short counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. King working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Short doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but King is tightening it up a little... Short has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Short reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Short taps out! nice BJJ there by King!
