This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 62 wins and 94 losses; Billy Turturro!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Kulik clinches up with Turturro and pushes him back against the cage.

Kulik has hold of one of Turturro's legs. Turturro is fighting the takedown attempt but Kulik gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Turturro bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kulik's guard.

Kulik can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Turturro controls the pace.
Turturro's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kulik's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Turturro seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Kulik seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kulik seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Turturro for as long as he can get away with.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Kulik is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Kulik is pushing down on Turturro's leg trying to pass to half guard. Turturro is fighting to maintain full guard but Kulik has managed to sneak the leg through.
Kulik wants to advance to full mount but Turturro doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Turturro wants to hit a sweep here but Kulik passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Turturro there!

We've been informed that Turturro has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Turturro just trying to survive but Kulik is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Turturro is really stuck here.
Kulik just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

What can Turturro do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Kulik has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
You can see the frustration on Turturro's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
