Rodriquez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sulvar.

Sulvar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rodriquez tries to avoid it but Sulvar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rodriquez to the ground. Rodriquez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sulvar is defended easily by Rodriquez.
Rodriquez half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Rodriquez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sulvar for as long as he can get away with.

We've been hearing good reports from Rodriquez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
