This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 75 wins and 50 losses; Vasiliy Kulik! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 62 wins and 47 losses; Tres Sulvar!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kulik prevents the takedown attempt.
Sulvar tries for a takedown. No joy.
Sulvar stops a takedown attempt from Kulik.
Kulik jumps guard and drags Sulvar to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kulik will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kulik can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sulvar controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Let's hope that Sulvar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Sulvar is taking a breather. Kulik says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Sulvar looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

A relieved looking Tres Sulvar thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
