Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Ramirez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ramirez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sulvar manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Sulvar (0) vs (2) Ramirez Ramirez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ramirez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sulvar is keeping the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Let's hope that Ramirez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Sulvar keeping full guard, as Ramirez tries to pass. We've been hearing good reports from Sulvar's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Ramirez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Ramirez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Ramirez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Sulvar pulls Ramirez in close to his closed guard and prevents Ramirez from doing any damage or advancing position. Sulvar keeping moving, preventing Ramirez from controlling successfully. Sulvar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ramirez is one step ahead there.

Ramirez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sulvar swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sulvar pulls Ramirez in close to his closed guard and prevents Ramirez from doing any damage or advancing position.
