This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 101 wins and 67 losses; Bogdan Kersikov! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Andrew Berry.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Wang darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Wang (2) vs (0) Kersikov Kersikov has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Wang is looking to pass Kersikov's guard but actually Kersikov recovers to full guard. Wang seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wang looking to pass the guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wang can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kersikov is looking to escape. Wang will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Wang is looking to work his way around to Kersikov's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Wang looking to control and managing it successfully. Wang seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Kersikov is holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wang sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Wang is looking to take Kersikov's back but instead Kersikov gets back to half guard. Nice work. Wang controlling the pace.

Wang wants to control the position but Kersikov says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Wang is trying to maintain the position but Kersikov is very close to passing his half guard.
