PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Midweight Try (ranked 3227 p4p, 2762 weight class) and Simon Maynard (ranked 360 p4p, 327 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Midweight Try!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Simon Maynard!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Try misses with a looping right.
Maynard slips under a jab from Try.
A countering left hand to the body from Maynard misses.
A big right from Try misses.
Try lands a head shot.
Nice defenses there by Maynard.
A little jabbing left from Maynard on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Maynard ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Maynard raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Try throws a jab but it's blocked by Maynard.
Maynard swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Try throws a hook to the side of Maynard's head but Maynard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A nice side step and Maynard releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
The crowd cheers as Try lands an impressive looking overhand right. Maynard doesn't seem phased though.
Maynard moves out of range as Try strikes.
Maynard throws a big counter head kick but Try avoids it with no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Try throws a lazy uppercut
and Maynard counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Try looks to land a right hand but Maynard moved out of range.
Maynard is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Try rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Maynard counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Maynard uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Try.

Try throws an off balance right hand
and Maynard counters with a straight right hand.
Try misses with a lunging right hand
and Maynard scores with a counter punch that sends Try to the canvas! Maynard smells blood - he's punishing Try with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Try has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
