Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Ortega (ranked 1108 p4p, 829 weight class) and Bart Detweiler (ranked 142 p4p, 109 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Emilio Ortega! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bart Detweiler! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Ortega. Detweiler does a little dance to reset his feet. Detweiler lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Detweiler misses with a looping left. A leg kick checked by Ortega. Detweiler looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ortega misses with an uppercut
and Detweiler counters with a right hand to the body. Ortega lands a glancing blow to the side of Detweiler's head. Ortega has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ortega there as he acknowledges the shot. Detweiler drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ortega not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ortega wants to sweep but no luck. Detweiler wants to control from the top but Ortega keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortega tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ortega trying to strike off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Detweiler accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Detweiler moves forwards but Ortega connects with a nice, crisp jab. Ortega shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Ortega lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Ortega will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Detweiler fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A combination from Detweiler does no damage. Ortega appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Detweiler avoids the body shot from Ortega.
Ortega shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ortega looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Detweiler moves into full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Detweiler looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Detweiler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ortega can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ortega preventing the sweep. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ortega's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Detweiler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ortega's guard. Ortega is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Detweiler content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortega looking to control.
Ortega looking for a guillotine here but Detweiler defends easily.

Detweiler's corner is telling him to maintain position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ortega working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Detweiler. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bart Detweiler dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Detweiler gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ortega has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Detweiler clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Good control from Ortega. Ortega keeps control of the position as Detweiler tries to break free.
Ortega scores with punches to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Detweiler is trying to stand back up. Ortega controlling from the back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Detweiler tries to escape but Ortega has the hooks in and won't let him break free. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Ortega's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Detweiler is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Detweiler is taking damage to the body and head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ortega keeps control of the position as Detweiler tries to break free.
Good control from Ortega. Detweiler trying to control the hands but Ortega won't let him. Ortega has the hooks in. Detweiler is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Detweiler trying to control the hands but Ortega won't let him. Ortega slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortega is landing with strikes from the back. A lull in the action here.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Detweiler wants to escape the position.
Ortega keeps control of the position easily here as Detweiler tries to buck him off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ortega seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Detweiler for as long as he can get away with. Emilio Ortega overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ortega controlling well, preventing Detweiler from escaping the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ortega has good solid back control here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Emilio Ortega dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Ortega shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ortega was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Detweiler tries to buck Ortega off but Ortega is having none of it. Detweiler is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Ortega off and has taken his back! Ortega is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Detweiler punishes Ortega with strikes from the back mount. Detweiler not allowing Ortega to control his hands. Ortega looking very determined here, making life difficult for Detweiler.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortega defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
You can see the frustration on Ortega's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Ortega rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Ortega has his hands clasped together around Detweiler's back. He's all about the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ortega on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ortega has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Detweiler is working away from the top position though. Detweiler wants to work for an arm triangle but Ortega is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ortega wants to control but Detweiler is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortega slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Ortega bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Detweiler's guard. Ortega sitting in guard here, content to control. Detweiler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ortega is one step ahead there. Detweiler is trying to keep Ortega in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Detweiler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ortega doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ortega manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ortega got a little sloppy there for a moment and Detweiler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ortega has managed to get both his arms back between Detweiler's legs - danger averted. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Ortega lands a couple of decent looking shots. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ortega preventing the sweep.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Emilio Ortega. I think Ortega has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

An out of breath Emilio Ortega thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. Bart Detweiler was interviewed post fight and said 'The Athletic Commission just announced my opponent has tested positive for PEDs, so this fight will be declared a No-Contest. Big up to those of us who still fight clean!'.
