Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lawson Serrano (ranked 124 p4p, 457 weight class) and Declan McCoy (ranked 15 p4p, 55 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lawson Serrano! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Declan McCoy! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCoy closes the distance and pushes Serrano back into the cage. Serrano is looking for a takedown. Serrano wants to take the fight to the mat but McCoy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. McCoy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Serrano misses with a lunging right hand
and Serrano takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. McCoy's coach down at Cherokees Island Elite Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McCoy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Serrano jabs at McCoy's body. McCoy looks to land a left hand but Serrano moved out of range nicely. McCoy pushes Serrano up against the cage in a clinch. McCoy lands a nice uppercut. McCoy lands with a short head shot on the inside. McCoy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Serrano.
We've been hearing reports that Serrano has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McCoy lands with a left to the head. McCoy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. With the fighters clinched against the cage, McCoy creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. McCoy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. McCoy cracks Serrano with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Serrano looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can McCoy finish him?
Serrano is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Serrano walks straight into a right hand from McCoy - that's dropped him! McCoy jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Serrano from any more punishment! Serrano complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Declan McCoy! Declan McCoy is the new middleweight champion! During a confident post fight interview, Declan McCoy thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. The defeated Lawson Serrano had this to say: 'Bullshit. let's run it again'.
