The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Po shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Makkonen (0) vs (2) Po Po is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
My spies in HELLCADEMY inform me that Po has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Po is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Makkonen is looking for a sweep. Po is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Makkonen looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Po is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Makkonen is just riding it out for now. Po eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Po is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Shen Po was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. The defeated Make Makkonen had this to say: 'All in all, he was better tonight. Maybe i was slightly too confident with my boxing and it did not go that well...
