The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atunes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Masterson.
The fighters circling - Masterson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Masterson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Masterson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Atunes is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Masterson with a body shot.
Atunes has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Masterson is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Masterson lands with an uppercut that bounces Atunes off the cage and back into range.

Masterson is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Atunes 's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

and Atunes counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Masterson is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Atunes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Atunes counters with an outside leg kick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Atunes .
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Masterson throws a shot from downtown. Atunes moves away and avoids it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Atunes ! But no joy.
Masterson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Atunes .
Masterson throws a looping overhand right but Atunes ducks down to avoid it.
Masterson loads up on a big right hand but Atunes slips the punch.

Masterson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Atunes clobbers Masterson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Atunes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Masterson.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Atunes .
Masterson just misses with a punch to the body.
Masterson throws a poor cross that misses
and Atunes makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Atunes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Masterson.
Masterson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Atunes .
Atunes scores with a head kick. Masterson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Masterson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Atunes lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Masterson falls backwards - clearly groggy! Atunes dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
