This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 2 losses; Lou Gotch! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Binsar Siregar! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gotch is defended easily by Siregar. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gotch. Siregar feints and as Gotch raises his hands in defense, Siregar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gotch tries to land a sweep but no joy. Siregar trying to control but Gotch is working from the bottom. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Siregar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gotch knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gotch is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Gotch is trying to maintain the position but Siregar is very close to passing his half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Siregar in particular looking to stall. Gotch trying to control but Siregar is working from the bottom. Siregar pulls Gotch in close to prevent any damage. Siregar wants to sweep here but Gotch controlling him for the moment.

Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Siregar drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gotch manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Siregar has Gotch in his guard.
