Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yu Liang (ranked 2421 p4p, 3468 weight class) and Jujitsu John (ranked 302 p4p, 405 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yu Liang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jujitsu John!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John tries to score a power double leg takedown but Liang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten John somewhat.
Liang was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
No luck with that takedown attempt from John.
John looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Nice takedown defense from Liang. No joy for John on that attempt.
Liang throwing a counter right hand but John manages to avoid it.
Yu Liang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jujitsu John.
John shoots in for a takedown but Liang shows good takedown defense.
An attempted straight right counter from Liang misses the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
John fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jujitsu John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Liang stuffs the takedown.
An attempted straight right counter from Liang misses the target.
John doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Liang counters with a straight right hand.
John misses with a few strikes there.
John goes for a double leg but Liang avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Liang continues to drive forward.

John looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Liang is fending him off so far but John persists. Nope, Liang circles away and we're back to standing.

Excellent takedown into side control there by John.

John is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Liang knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
John looks winded!
Liang tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but John wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

John tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no John has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

John is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Liang is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Liang tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but John wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Liang on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Liang tries to get out of the position.
Liang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for John on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

John tries for a kimura but Liang is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Liang misses with an elbow from the bottom.

John working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

John tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Liang has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

John is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Liang is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Liang is looking to reverse the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Liang manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Liang lands strikes from half guard.
Liang lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Liang looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks John with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Liang working over John with some ground and pound. John looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
John has hold of Liang's hands but Liang slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Liang scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

John is rocked!

John looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yu Liang dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

John throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Liang's waist but Liang gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing John off to one side.
John shoots in looking for a takedown but Liang manages to keep the fight standing, pushing John's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
John rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Liang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
John throws a series of punches but Liang moves out of range.
John shoots for a double leg takedown but Liang sprawls well. He's pushed John's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yu Liang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jujitsu John.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
John tries to clinch but Liang moves away

and Liang counters with a crisp right hand that drops John! Liang lets John back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
John is still on wobbly legs! Can Liang finish him?
Liang is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that John can do to turn this around?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Horrible takedown attempt by John or perhaps it was just good defense by Liang, which made it look bad.
A little feinted left hand from Liang on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
John has his takedown stuffed
and Liang rattles John with a well-timed uppercut counter. - John tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Liang dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving John stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Yu Liang!
After winning the bout, Yu Liang thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
