Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ramazan Adaev (ranked 4513 p4p, 5366 weight class) and Elijah Thomas (ranked 481 p4p, 517 weight class). Ramazan Adaev has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ramazan Adaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elijah Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adaev looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Adaev seems to be looking for submissions.
Thomas wants to get back to full guard.
Thomas trying to control here.

Thomas is defending against the submission attempts here by Adaev.
Thomas wants to control but Adaev is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adaev is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thomas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Adaev.

Adaev is working for a guillotine from mount but Thomas frees his head quite easily.

Adaev has control of Thomas's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Thomas regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Thomas wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Adaev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Thomas lands a head kick. Adaev smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Thomas explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Thomas uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Adaev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Adaev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Adaev creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Thomas sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Adaev goes for an armbar but Thomas turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Thomas.

Thomas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Adaev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thomas has managed to get both his arms back between Adaev's legs - danger averted.

Adaev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

so Adaev counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Thomas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Adaev manages to avoid it.
Elijah Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Adaev shoots in and bounces Thomas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Adaev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Adaev is pushing down on Thomas's leg trying to pass to half guard. Thomas is fighting to maintain full guard but Adaev has managed to sneak the leg through.

Adaev is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Adaev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
