Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Banner (ranked 1624 p4p, 3279 weight class) and Emmanuel Thompson (ranked 143 p4p, 251 weight class). Lamont Banner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lamont Banner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Emmanuel Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Banner.
And Thompson tries to counter it with a takedown but Banner pushes his down on his head and steps out.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Thompson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Banner as he jumps to the side.
Banner swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Thompson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Thompson.
