Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Blanchard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kiyoshi Kasai!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blanchard misses with a hook.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kasai lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Blanchard has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Blanchard and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Blanchard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A head kick misses from Kasai.
Blanchard throws a big shot that misses.
Kasai is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Blanchard scores with a nice right hand.
It looks like Kiyoshi Kasai has been cut.
Blanchard throws a body punch but Kasai moves out of range.
Kasai feints a counter leg kick.
A combination from Kasai does no damage.
Kasai scores with a head kick. Blanchard tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Andrew Blanchard has been cut.
Kasai throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kasai slips under a jab.
Blanchard throws a right hand that misses
and Kasai counters with a nice body kick.
Blanchard clobbers Kasai with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Blanchard tries to move into range but Kasai moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kasai throws a lazy uppercut
and Blanchard counters with a stiff right hand.
Sloppy strikes from Blanchard. Those never looked like landing.
Kasai looks to throw the jab but Blanchard is out of range.
Kasai throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Blanchard counters with a nice body shot.
Kasai throws a push kick but Blanchard slaps the foot to one side.
Blanchard went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Blanchard drops Kasai with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Kasai! Blanchard dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrew Blanchard!
