Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kai Chen (ranked 3054 p4p, 3582 weight class) and Hagler Hearns (ranked 235 p4p, 273 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kai Chen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hagler Hearns! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hearns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chen moves away. Chen throws a leg kick which misses Hearns's front leg but catches the back leg as Hearns tries to avoid it. Chen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Chen misses with a body shot.
Hearns looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Chen throws a leg kick but Hearns moved away. Hearns lands an overhand right. Hearns with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Chen to score with a decent uppercut. Chen misses with a body shot
letting Hearns counter with a right hand. Chen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hearns on his heels. He'll look to pass Hearns's guard now, I'm sure. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hearns is trying to control the position but Chen postures up. Hearns is pulling down on Chen's head. It's preventing any offense from Chen, at least for the moment. Hearns looking for a guillotine here but Chen defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hearns is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Chen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Chen's back! Hearns has the hooks in. Chen is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chen is working hard here to advance position. Hearns is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Chen has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Chen tries to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hearns is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Chen knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Chen for a finish. Hearns working for the choke. Hearns working for a choke but Chen is defending well. I really don't envy Chen right now.
Hearns really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chen staying busy and making it hard for Hearns to control. Chen is holding onto Hearns's left hand, preventing any choke attempts. Chen is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hearns looking for the RNC. Hearns controlling well, preventing Chen from escaping the position.
Hearns doesn't have the hooks in and Chen manages to turn into his guard.
Chen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Chen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Chen trying to control the position from guard on top but Hearns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hagler Hearns dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Chen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hearns manages to avoid it. Despite the aggression on Hearns's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Chen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hearns's guard. Chen trying to control the position from guard on top but Hearns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hearns wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Chen is now in half guard. Chen is working for a kimura but Hearns is defending it quite comfortably.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chen trying to control but Hearns is working from the bottom. Hearns looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chen looking to sit in guard and control but Hearns gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Chen is looking for a triangle but Hearns pushes his legs off easily.

Chen keeping moving, preventing Hearns from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hearns is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Chen has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hearns is looking to defend but Chen has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hearns! Chen pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hearns taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kai Chen! A less than humble Kai Chen misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
