Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ty Ty Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Wooden! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wooden. Brown keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Brown drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wooden sprawls and moves away. Wooden takes a swing at Brown's ribcage but misses. Brown drops down looking for a counter takedown but Wooden sprawls and moves away. Brown has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Xtreme Fighting Gym in the buildup to the fight. Wooden shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brown as he jumps to the side. Ty Ty Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Wooden. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wooden tries to clinch up but Brown circles away and keeps his distance. Wooden misses with a takedown attempt - Brown sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Brown attempts a counter takedown but Wooden avoids it well and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wooden closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brown circles away. Brown feinted with a counter takedown. Brown displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wooden. Brown appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Wooden has closed the distance and engaged Brown in a clinch.
Wooden is looking for a takedown. Brown has hold of one of Wooden's legs. Wooden is fighting the takedown attempt but Brown gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Brown sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wooden's guard. Brown is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wooden is just riding it out for now. Brown eventually gives up the hold. Wooden tries to kick Brown off but Brown keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wooden sees it coming and defends easily. Brown seems to be working for a kimura but Wooden defends the submission attempt. Wooden is defending against the submission attempts here by Brown.
Brown has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Wooden defend it? Brown steps over the head and cranks it - Wooden is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Brown!
