The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Arby looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Shalit pulls Arby in close to his closed guard and prevents Arby from doing any damage or advancing position. Shalit wants to sweep here but Arby controlling him for the moment. Arby bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shalit's guard. That's eight minutes gone in the round. Arby drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arby jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Shalit's shoulder. That is not cool. Shalit is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The referee asks Arby politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Arby prefers to stall for the moment though. Arby wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shalit keeps working.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Shalit manages to get back to half guard. Arby perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Shalit wants to improve his position but Arby is controlling well.
Arby content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Arby will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Arby wants to control but Shalit is keeping him busy.
