And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 27 wins and 20 losses; Elazar Shalit! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Toehold looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shalit is fending him off so far but Toehold persists. Nope, Shalit circles away and we're back to standing. Shalit closes the distance and clinches. Toehold pulls guard. Shalit trying to control the position from guard on top but Toehold is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shalit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Toehold swivels though and keeps the full guard. Toehold has control of Shalit's left arm, preventing Shalit from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Toehold continues to stall.

Shalit seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Toehold wants to pass the guard but Shalit is keeping the position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Toehold got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shalit has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?!
