This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Kenyon Igwe! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Mo Lee!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Lee closes the distance and clinches.
Igwe has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lee after a bit of a struggle.
I was talking to Igwe's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Lee jumps guard.
Lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Igwe content to stall in guard here.
Igwe pushes down on Lee's leg and manages to get into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee moves into full guard.
Lee can't keep his opponent in guard - Igwe advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Lee won't allow Igwe to pass to mount.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Igwe is working away from the top position though.
Igwe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Lee told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Igwe wants to free his trapped foot but Lee is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Igwe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Lee is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Igwe wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Igwe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lee is in all sorts of trouble here.
Igwe avoids the attempt from Lee to control.
Lee really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Igwe controlling the position easily from mount.
Lee is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Igwe tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Igwe fails to advance to Lee's back.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
Lee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Lee wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Lee looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
You can see the frustration on Lee's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Igwe keeps control of the position easily here as Lee tries to buck him off.

Lee is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Igwe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Igwe is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

I really don't envy Lee right now.
Igwe doesn't have the hooks in and Lee manages to turn into his guard.

Igwe is pulling down on Lee's head. It's preventing any offense from Lee, at least for the moment.

Lee is trying to hold Igwe in close to prevent damage but Igwe has managed to pass into half guard.

Igwe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Igwe continues to stall.

Lee is looking for a sweep. Igwe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Igwe passes to full mount!

Lee is trying to escape the mount but Igwe keeps good control and instead manages to take Lee's back.
Score +3 for taking back: Igwe (16) vs (2) Lee
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Igwe is riding his opponent, not letting Lee buck him off.

And that's the end of the fight!
