The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Thayer clinches up with Levesque and pushes him back against the cage.
Thayer jumps guard and drags Levesque to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Thayer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Levesque tries to free his leg and advance position but Thayer is retaining full guard.
Levesque drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Thayer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Levesque has Thayer in his guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Thayer (2) vs (0) Levesque
