Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ron Funches (ranked 2514 p4p, 3631 weight class) and Matthieu Courageux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Funches comes to the cage accompanied by Homosapien. The crowd seem to be enjoying Courageux's choice of entrance music: Jul. Matthieu Courageux told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Courageux is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Funches.
Funches keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Courageux will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Funches scores with a nice head shot.
Courageux misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Funches counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Funches breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Funches rushes Courageux and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Funches is working for takedown but Courageux is calmly controlling the position for now.

Funches pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Courageux throws a right hand that Funches ducks under and follows up with a left that Funches also avoids with ease.
Courageux looks to score with a jab to the body but Funches is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Courageux has his takedown stuffed
and Funches cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Courageux takes a swing at Funches's ribcage but misses.
Funches blocks the body kick.

A head kick lands from Funches that sends Courageux to the canvas. Courageux tries to scramble back to his feet but Funches brings him back down into side control.

Courageux is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Courageux is still on wobbly legs! Can Funches finish him?

Funches swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Funches explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Courageux seems to have recovered his senses.
Funches feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Courageux collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!
