Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Isaiah King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Martin Alverz!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alverz stuffs the takedown attempt from King. King gets slowly back to his feet.

King closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Alverz's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alverz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
King wants to pass the guard but Alverz is keeping the position.
Alverz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as King controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Alverz looking for a sweep. Not yet Alverz, not yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Alverz has his foot on King's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. King works his way back into a safe position though.
King slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
King controlling the position from side mount.

King tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no King has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The referee asks King politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. King prefers to stall for the moment though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King trying to control the action but Alverz is working from the bottom.
King taking a breather here.
Alverz tries to bench press King off him but King keeps the position.
Alverz wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
King slows the pace down.
King seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Alverz for as long as he can get away with.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King tries to advance to mount but can't.
You can see the frustration on Alverz's face as King controls the position.

King thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Alverz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but King wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Alverz can't do much from the bottom here.

King tries for a kimura but Alverz is defending well.

King tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Alverz stops King from passing to mount.

King working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

King is working to tighten his grip on Alverz's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Alverz has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but King is really squeezing tight and eventually Alverz passes out! King breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Isaiah King!
During a confident post fight interview, Isaiah King thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
