Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yosef Kirby (ranked 4348 p4p, 4071 weight class) and Kayden Mcpherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Yosef Kirby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kayden Mcpherson! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcpherson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mcpherson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kirby misses with a wild body shot. Kirby misses with a double jab
and Mcpherson counters with a solid body kick. Nice uppercut there from Mcpherson. Mcpherson closes the distance and clinches up with Kirby, looking for a takedown. Mcpherson pushes Kirby against the cage but Kirby circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kirby tries to counter with a takedown but Mcpherson is quick to defend against it. Yosef Kirby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kayden Mcpherson. Mcpherson shoots in but Kirby avoids the takedown attempt easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcpherson shoots for a takedown but Kirby saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mcpherson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kirby misses with a lunging right hand
and Mcpherson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kirby really felt that one!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirby throws a leg kick and Mcpherson counters with a left and a right that stings Kirby. No luck for Mcpherson with that takedown attempt. Mcpherson looks winded! Mcpherson tries to clinch up but Kirby circles away and keeps his distance. Kirby feints and as Mcpherson raises his hands in defense, Kirby changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kirby connects with a couple of short punches. Kirby chips away with some ground and pound. Kirby makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kirby slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kirby distracts Mcpherson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kirby controlling from the top position. Mcpherson wants to control but Kirby passes easily into half guard.
Kirby working over Mcpherson with some ground and pound. Mcpherson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Mcpherson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kirby. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kirby is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcpherson can do anything to dispel that myth. Kirby working over Mcpherson with some ground and pound. Mcpherson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Kirby content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Kirby looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mcpherson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kirby controlling the action here. Kirby drops an elbow to the side of Mcpherson's head. Kirby wants to work for an arm triangle but Mcpherson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mcpherson is not content to let Kirby control the position. Mcpherson trying to hold on to Kirby's head to control him but Kirby postures up.
Mcpherson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kirby haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Mcpherson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kirby lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kirby sitting and controlling from the half guard. Kirby working the head and body with strikes. Kirby drops an elbow to the side of Mcpherson's head. Kirby has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kirby working over Mcpherson with some ground and pound. Mcpherson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Kirby is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Mcpherson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kirby landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yosef Kirby dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! A left and a right from Mcpherson both land. Nice combination. Mcpherson doesn't manage to clinch there - Kirby circles away.
Kirby appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Mcpherson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kirby decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mcpherson's guard. Kirby is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Kirby keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mcpherson's head. Yosef Kirby overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kirby keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mcpherson's head. Mcpherson can't do much from the bottom here. Kirby remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirby lands a nice forearm strike. A lull in the action here. Kirby seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mcpherson for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kirby working the head and body with strikes. Kirby advances to full mount. Kirby is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mcpherson can do to turn this around? Kirby controlling the position easily from mount.

This has been an exciting period of action! Kirby is in the full mount, landing strikes. Mcpherson is breathing heavily. Kirby postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mcpherson looks a forlorn figure.
