Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Higanti Libat (ranked 23548 p4p, 23775 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 41 - 57 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Higanti Libat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 46 - 48 - 9, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Libat darts in looking for a takedown but Sapi gets double underhooks and turns Libat into the cage. Sapi replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Libat blocks it well. Sapi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Sapi is looking for a takedown. Libat has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sapi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Libat is looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Higanti Libat. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Libat has clasped his hands together around Sapi's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Sapi is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Libat has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Libat trying to control the position but Sapi is working away. Libat is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sapi will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Sapi holds on to Libat's head and controls the position momentarily. Sapi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Libat wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Libat looking to control but instead Sapi has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sapi controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Sapi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Libat sprawls well initially but Sapi persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Libat controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Well, if Sapi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Libat holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sapi slows the pace down in half guard. Libat is trying to get back to full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Sapi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sapi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Libat sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. It appears Libat was looking to counter with a kick there. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Wala Sapi will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Libat looks for a takedown but Sapi sprawls well. Horrible takedown attempt by Libat or perhaps it was just good defense by Sapi, which made it look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Libat scores with a takedown into Sapi's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Libat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Sapi is adopting a defensive guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Libat trying to control but Sapi is working from the bottom. Libat is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Libat being controlled here momentarily. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Libat slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sapi controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sapi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Sapi is looking to take a break and control but Libat is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The strikes coming from Sapi are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Libat is trying to control Sapi's posture but Sapi avoids it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wala Sapi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Sapi has his takedown stuffed and Libat counters with a solid body kick. Libat goes for a double leg but Sapi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sapi continues to drive forward. Sapi is defending well against a takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Libat is trying to pull guard but Sapi turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Higanti Libat. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sapi breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Libat. No joy for Sapi on that attempt. Libat changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Libat shoots in and bounces Sapi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Sapi has Libat pulled in close to control his posture. Libat slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Libat working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Libat trying to control the position from guard on top but Sapi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Libat trying to control but Sapi is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Sapi stuffs the takedown. Sapi is trying to counter with his kicks. A momentary lapse in concentration from Sapi enables Libat to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sapi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Libat won't allow Sapi to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sapi is pulling down on Libat's head. It's preventing any offense from Libat, at least for the moment. Sapi looking to control.
Higanti Libat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wala Sapi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Sapi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Libat in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Higanti Libat showed his dominance in that final round. I think Sapi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
