PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Orla Wanker (ranked 1998 p4p, 1888 weight class) and Peter OBrien (ranked 242 p4p, 232 weight class). Peter OBrien told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 36 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Orla Wanker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter OBrien!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OBrien avoids the head kick by Wanker.

Wanker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

OBrien feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as OBrien holds on and takes a little breather.

Wanker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Wanker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That was a close second round but I would say that Orla Wanker will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
