Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Etienne blocks a leg kick.
Etienne takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Ross on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ross swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Etienne counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ross moves in looking to clinch but Etienne pushes him off.
Nice uppercut lands for Etienne. That snapped Ross's head back.
Ross misses with a two punch combination.
Ross tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Ross throws a lazy right hand but Etienne sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
It seemed like Etienne was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Ross closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Etienne tries to kick Ross off but Ross keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Etienne can do anything to dispel that myth.

Etienne looks like he's trying to stand up.
Etienne is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Ross works his foot free and advances to mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ross throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Etienne because Ross loaded up on that one.

Etienne gets to his feet - Ross follows without any prompting.
Ross tries to close the distance and clinch but Etienne swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Etienne's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ross under the eye.
Etienne is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ross had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Ross needs to keep his hands up - Etienne had a free shot at his head there.

Ross swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Decent striking displayed by Etienne there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Etienne changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Ross tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Etienne manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gaven Ross is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ross connects with a stiff jab that staggers Etienne - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
