PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Sampson (ranked 21 p4p, 48 weight class) and Orestes Prometheus (ranked 3 p4p, 8 weight class). Sampson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sunshine (ft. Anthony Hamilton) - Twista . Prometheus has chosen Before I Forget - Slipknot as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

A looping hook to the body misses from Prometheus. Sampson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Sampson lands with a cross.
Prometheus on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Sampson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Prometheus appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Sampson has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Prometheus lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Sampson falls backwards - clearly groggy! Prometheus dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

In defeat, Douglas Sampson stepped up to the mic, saying 'Nothing goes over my head… my reflexes are too fast, but my famously huge turd pre fight left me feeling dizzy and I was seeing double vision the whole fight'.
