Redman comes to the cage accompanied by Smke a Little Smoke - Eric Church. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricardo Desceosarrafo!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Desceosarrafo swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Redman shoots in for a double leg but Desceosarrafo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Desceosarrafo! But no joy.
Desceosarrafo throws a right hand that Redman ducks under and follows up with a left that Redman also avoids with ease.
Redman was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Sloppy strikes from Desceosarrafo. Those never looked like landing.
Redman walks into a straight right hand from Desceosarrafo.
Redman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Desceosarrafo as he jumps to the side.
Desceosarrafo lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Desceosarrafo moves into the clinch successfully.
Redman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Desceosarrafo lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Redman is trying to drag Desceosarrafo to the mat but Desceosarrafo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Redman turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Redman manages to end up in side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Desceosarrafo is not content to let Redman control the position.
The strikes coming from Redman are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Desceosarrafo wants to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Redman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Desceosarrafo down.
Redman tries to score with some ground and pound. Desceosarrafo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Desceosarrafo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Desceosarrafo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Redman is controlling him well.
Redman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Desceosarrafo is pushing Redman's head away, looking to escape. Redman manages to hold on to the position though.
Redman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Desceosarrafo some visible discomfort.
Redman lands some shots froms side control.

Desceosarrafo throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stu Redman will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Redman manages to get his head free but now Desceosarrafo has transitioned to an armbar! Redman grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Desceosarrafo! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
