Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Brovarnik (ranked 2470 p4p, 2363 weight class) and Michael Fochi (ranked 315 p4p, 303 weight class). Brovarnik comes to the cage accompanied by Colours - DJ Mind X. Michael Fochi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexei Brovarnik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Fochi!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brovarnik connects with a high kick.

It looks like Michael Fochi has been cut.
Alexei Brovarnik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A bone on bone clash there as Fochi blocks the leg kick.
Brovarnik attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Brovarnik throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Fochi drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Brovarnik defends it well.
Fochi throws a big shot that misses.

Brovarnik has Fochi up against the cage in a clinch.
Brovarnik throws a knee to the head but misses.

Fochi tightens his grip and picks Brovarnik up, before dumping him to the ground. Brovarnik manages to land in guard.

Brovarnik looking for a guillotine here but Fochi defends easily.

Brovarnik looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Brovarnik can't keep his opponent in guard - Fochi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Still in half guard, Fochi seems content to control.

Brovarnik looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Fochi content to control rather than advance.
Fochi is looking to advance position but Brovarnik won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brovarnik is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fochi with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fochi works his way into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brovarnik tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Fochi looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fochi looking to control but Brovarnik is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fochi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Brovarnik tries to hold on but Fochi postures up.

Fochi controlling his opponent.
Fochi wants to control but instead Brovarnik manages to regain half guard.
Brovarnik is not content to let Fochi control the position.

Brovarnik looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Fochi prevents Brovarnik from improving his position.
Fochi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Brovarnik really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Brovarnik bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Brovarnik stopping the sweep attempt from Fochi.
Brovarnik wants to pass the guard but Fochi is keeping the position.
Brovarnik slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Brovarnik will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Brovarnik thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Brovarnik tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brovarnik is trying to get an arm triangle but Fochi is defending well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alexei Brovarnik will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Michael Fochi's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

A low kick from Brovarnik misses

and Fochi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brovarnik's guard.
Fochi tries to free his leg and advance position but Brovarnik is retaining full guard.

Fochi is still trying to improve position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brovarnik is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fochi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brovarnik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Will Brovarnik go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
