Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Petar Georgiev (ranked 4337 p4p, 4155 weight class) and Artur Savchenko (ranked 466 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Georgiev tries to clinch but Savchenko moves away
and Savchenko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Georgiev moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Georgiev throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Georgiev misses with an attempted mid kick.
Savchenko's jab looks to have found its range, popping Georgiev under the eye.

Georgiev clinches up with Savchenko and pushes him back against the cage.
Georgiev is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Savchenko is defending well for now.
Savchenko tries to break the clinch but Georgiev is controlling the position.
Savchenko wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Georgiev keeps control of Savchenko as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Savchenko's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Savchenko wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Georgiev has him pressed against the cage.

Savchenko throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Georgiev on the side of the head.

and Savchenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Georgiev shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Savchenko eats them both and turns towards Georgiev to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Georgiev drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Georgiev jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Savchenko can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Georgiev controls the pace.
Georgiev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Savchenko is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Savchenko has had enough of the clinch but Georgiev keeps him there for the moment.
Georgiev is pushing Savchenko up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Georgiev changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Savchenko tries to avoid it but Georgiev manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Savchenko to the ground. Savchenko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Petar Georgiev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Savchenko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
