Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ron Funches (ranked 2032 p4p, 24340 weight class) and Krzysztof Zakrzewski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Funches comes to the cage accompanied by Homosapien. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Krzysztof Zakrzewski!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zakrzewski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Funches was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Funches thuds his shin into the meat of Zakrzewski's side.
Funches moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Zakrzewski moves in looking to clinch but Funches pushes him off.
A head kick from Funches lands but Zakrzewski takes it in his stride.
It looks like Krzysztof Zakrzewski has been cut.
Funches closes the distance and pushes Zakrzewski back into the cage.
Funches breaks from the clinch.

and Funches counters with a series of strikes that sends Zakrzewski to the canvas! Funches follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Funches controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Funches has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Funches seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Funches pushes down on Zakrzewski's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Funches stalling.
Funches seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Zakrzewski for as long as he can get away with.

Funches throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Zakrzewski is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Funches has latched onto it... Big trouble! Funches pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Zakrzewski is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Funches!
