Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jun Liu (ranked 1237 p4p, 882 weight class) and Eddie Kekoa (ranked 160 p4p, 117 weight class). Kekoa is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Freelance Fiend. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 34 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jun Liu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Kekoa! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liu feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kekoas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Liu scores with a head kick. Kekoa tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. We've been told by Liu's head coaches at Gumburcules Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Kekoa lands a jab to the nose.
It looks like Jun Liu has been cut. A slow jab from Liu misses its intended target. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kekoa! But no joy. Liu connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kekoa's hands. Liu lands a nice looking body kick. Liu slips a jab from Kekoa. Liu appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Liu misses with a hook
and Kekoa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Liu gets tackled into the cage by Kekoa. Kekoa maintains the clinch. Kekoa tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Liu digs a right hand into Kekoa's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kekoa's gas tank. Kekoa lands a nice elbow. Kekoa on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kekoa tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Liu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Liu throws a right hand that misses
and Kekoa counters with a nice uppercut.
Liu is rocked! Liu misses with a looping left. Liu throws an off balance right hand
and Kekoa counters with a nice body shot. Liu throws a poor cross that misses
and Kekoa counters with a low kick, right behind Liu 's knee.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kekoa checks the leg kick nicely there.
Liu misses with a hook
and Kekoa scores with a counter punch that sends Liu to the canvas! Kekoa smells blood - he's punishing Liu with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Liu has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eddie Kekoa! Eddie Kekoa decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
