Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jan Claude Van Damme (ranked 2279 p4p, 2219 weight class) and Grga Chvarak (ranked 267 p4p, 261 weight class). Van Damme comes to the cage accompanied by Wai khru ram muay. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chvarak cracks Van Damme with a right hand to the side of the head.

Chvarak takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Van Damme throws a head kick that Chvarak semi-blocks.
Van Damme tries to land a body kick
and Van Damme takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jan Claude Van Damme seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Damme lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Van Damme moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Chvarak blocks a head kick by Van Damme.
Chvarak throws a series of punches but Van Damme moves out of range.
Van Damme jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
