Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zaid Sims!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Manny Torres!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres darts in and clinches Sims up against the cage.
Torres manages to pull guard.
Sims stands and steps away. Torres gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Sims fails to land the takedown.
Torres drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Sims manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Torres breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Manny Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sims shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Torres sprawls well. Torres wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sims gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Torres stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Torres wants it to stay on the feet.
Torres raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zaid Sims. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Torres closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sims's guard.
Torres throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sims works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sims looking for a guillotine here but Torres defends easily.
Torres missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Torres wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Sims's closed guard. He's half up but Sims has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Sims pivots and extends the arm, Torres falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Sims! Well done that man!
