Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Connor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Rick Connor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Flare! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Connor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Flare should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Connor tries to clinch there but Flare circles away.
Connor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Flare was covering up waiting for the punch and Connor finishes the takedown easily into guard. Connor tries to stand but Flare is controlling from the bottom. Flare working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Connor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Connor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Connor throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Connor will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Flare is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Flare is working an open guard so Connor takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Connor scores with a takedown into Flare's guard. Connor is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Connor landing some decent shots from guard. Flare looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Connor has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Connor content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Connor loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Flare tries to land a sweep but no joy. Connor is looking to work some ground and pound but Flare has wrist control. Flare keeping full guard, as Connor tries to pass. Connor stopping the sweep attempt from Flare. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Connor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Flare darts in and clinches Connor up against the cage. Flare drops down looking for an ankle pick but Connor pulls his leg out and moves away.
Flare shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Flare wants to lay and pray for a moment but Connor keeps working. Connor missing with punches from the bottom.
Connor wants to control but Flare is keeping busy and won't allow it. Flare working the head and body with strikes.

Connor is trying to get back to full guard. Flare is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Flare is pressing down on Connor's thigh, looking to free his foot. Connor is holding on for now. Flare seems to be looking for submissions.
Connor manages to escape and get back to his feet! Flare fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rick Connor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Connor drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Connor cracks Flare with a big elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Connor landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Flare manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flare blocks the strikes from Connor.
Flare is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Connor striking from the bottom. Flare throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Connor won't allow Flare to pass to mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Connor tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Flare is thwarting Connor's attempts to control the position. Connor is staying active underneath Flare, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flare circles away from the clinch attempt and Flare counters with a straight right hand. Connor doesn't succeed with the takedown and Flare counters with a nice double leg into side control. Connor won't be happy with that. Flare lands some shots froms side control. Flare moves into full mount! Flare trying to control but Connor is having none of it. Flare landing strikes from the mount and Connor is in trouble! Flare with good strikes from the mount here! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Flare lands a big shot there that rocks Connor but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Connor tries to hold on but Flare pushes him away. Connor throwing hammer fists to the chest of Flare. What's that going to do exactly? Connor is desperately trying to improve his position but Flare has a good base and remains in mount. Flare with the ground and pound from mount. Flare scoring with strikes but Connor is staying in there. Connor manages to regain half guard. Good work. Connor wants to control but Flare is keeping busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Connor is in all sorts of trouble here.
Flare cracks Connor with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Flare working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Connor turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Flare off and cradles Connor's limp body as Flare celebrates with his corner.
