Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leon Saint (ranked 24058 p4p, 18617 weight class) and Neil Nucombe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Neil Nucombe is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leon Saint!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Neil Nucombe!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saint moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Nucombe takes a kick to the side of the head.
Nucombe is rocked!
Nucombe takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Saint steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nucombe.
Saint shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Saint showed some decent athleticism there.
Nucombe trying to control but Saint postures up.

Saint stands up and beckons Nucombe to join him on the feet.
Saint scores with a takedown into Nucombe's guard.
Saint is working Nucombe over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Saint forces his way into half guard.
Saint content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Saint will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Saint is looking for a kimura but Nucombe is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Saint to get the leverage.
Nucombe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saint. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Still in half guard, Saint seems content to control.
Saint working over Nucombe with some ground and pound. Nucombe looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Saint is taking a breather. Nucombe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Saint throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Nucombe looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Saint gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Saint throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nucombe was covering up waiting for the punch and Saint finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Saint stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Crunch! Saint slams his shin into Nucombe's torso.
Nucombe looks winded!
Saint shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saint looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nucombe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Saint controlling the pace.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Saint throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Saint changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nucombe tries to avoid it but Saint manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nucombe to the ground. Nucombe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
It seemed like Nucombe was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Saint closes the distance and clinches.
Saint lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Nucombe throws a head punch that misses.
