Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapad Amiga (ranked 23922 p4p, 23770 weight class) and Rico Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 33 - 66 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 46 - 54 - 6, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Salvacion! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Amiga goes for a double leg but Salvacion avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Salvacion continues to drive forward. Salvacion has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Amiga is trying to keep an underhook but Salvacion manages to get the takedown into half guard. Amiga wants to control but Salvacion is keeping busy and won't allow it. Amiga wants to get back to full guard. Amiga trying to control from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvacion controlling the action here. Salvacion's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like Salvacion might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Salvacion is thwarting Amiga's attempts to control the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Nice sprawl there from Amiga as Salvacion shoots in.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Amiga changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Salvacion tries to avoid it but Amiga manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Salvacion to the ground. Salvacion escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Salvacion replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Amiga blocks it well. Amiga gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Salvacion counters with a big head kick but Amiga shrugs it off. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapad Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him. Amiga scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Amiga is thwarting Salvacion's attempts to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salvacion keeping control of the position. Salvacion is trying to maintain the position but Amiga is very close to passing his half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Salvacion has hold of Amiga's hands but Amiga slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Amiga seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Amiga gets caught napping as Salvacion dives in and scores a takedown. Amiga manages to retain guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rico Salvacion dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Salvacion keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Salvacion replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Amiga blocks it well. Amiga dives in and grabs Salvacion's left leg, looking for a takedown. Salvacion pushes down on Amiga's head and hops out. Salvacion fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Amiga sprawls well initially but Salvacion persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Amiga taking some punishment here, with Salvacion in his half guard. Rico Salvacion has got the better of the ground game so far. Salvacion tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salvacion content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Amiga is trying to control but can't.
Salvacion content to control rather than advance. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Amiga takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A counter left hand to the body from Amiga misses its target. Amiga fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapad Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amiga stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Amiga wants it to stay on the feet. And Amiga counters with a quick kick to the body but Salvacion blocks it. Amiga fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Salvacion to the ground. Amiga is now in Salvacion's guard. Amiga wants to control from the top but Salvacion keeps moving. Amiga stays in close to Salvacion's body and controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salvacion pulls Amiga in to control the position. Amiga slips nicely into half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Amiga seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rico Salvacion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Salvacion shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Amiga napping and manages to drive through into side control! Amiga struggling a bit here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvacion controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amiga can't do much from the bottom here. Salvacion cracks Amiga with an elbow. That is naaassty. Salvacion taking a breather here. Salvacion working away. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. The referee asks Salvacion politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Salvacion prefers to stall for the moment though.

Salvacion manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And Salvacion responds with a good body kick, but Amiga manages to step out the way in time. Salvacion fails with a takedown attempt. As Salvacion backs away, Amiga returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Amiga feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Salvacion managing to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salvacion is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tapad Amiga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rico Salvacion is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Salvacion is controlling Amiga's posture.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tapad Amiga. Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
