Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Levi Hess (ranked 4235 p4p, 4234 weight class) and Awaiz Cabral (ranked 402 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Levi Hess! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Awaiz Cabral! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cabral misses with a hook
and Hess cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hess uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cabral. Cabral fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hess looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Nice sprawl there from Cabral as Hess shoots in. Cabral swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. A jab lands there for Cabral. Cabral lands a glancing blow to the side of Hess's head. Cabral lands a head shot. Cabral is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hess throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cabral. Hess tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cabral was well out of range. Poor timing from Hess. Hess tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hess gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hess has Cabral pushed against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cabral has had enough of the clinch but Hess keeps him there for the moment. A frustrated look appears on Cabral's face as he tries to break the clinch. Cabral can't break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabral has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hess keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cabral's efforts to push away. Hess has Cabral pressed against the cage, preventing Cabral from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Cabral looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Hess jumps guard but Cabral stands there with Hess around his waist. Hess gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cabral wants to stand but Hess has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hess trying to strike off his back.
Hess has a closed guard, preventing Cabral from standing up. Hess wants to sweep here but Cabral controlling him for the moment. Cabral wants to stand but Hess is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hess fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Levi Hess. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice shot by Cabral. Hess shoots for a double leg takedown but Cabral sprawls well. He's pushed Hess's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cabral tries to bum rush Hess with a series of wild strikes but Hess uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A little feinted left hand from Hess on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cabral lands with a hook. Hess tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Hess tries to clinch up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hess is defended easily by Cabral. Hess is breathing heavily. Cabral lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Hess fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hess has his takedown stuffed and Cabral cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hess fails with the takedown and Hess takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cabral jabs Hess to the body, keeping him at a distance. Cabral lands a lovely overhand right. Hess tries to close the distance and clinch but Cabral swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cabral dips to his left and cracks Hess with an uppercut! Cabral tests Hess's chin there with a solid looking shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hess throws a leg kick which misses Cabral's front leg but catches the back leg as Cabral tries to avoid it. Cabral misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hess swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Cabral has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. The crowd cheers as Cabral lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hess doesn't seem phased though. Cabral tries to bum rush Hess with a series of wild strikes but Hess uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hess walks into a left hand. Cabral might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Cabral paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Awaiz Cabral dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Cabral uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Cabral leaves Hess with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hess shoots in but Cabral avoids the takedown attempt easily. Cabral lands the left hand. Cabral scores with a jab to the head.
Hess takes one to the chin there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice straight punches there by Cabral. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cabral. Cabral lands a head shot. Cabral paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hess is rocked! Hess misses with a takedown attempt - Cabral sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cabral throws out a counter right but Hess avoids it with no problem. Oh Hess is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Levi Hess. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabral scores with a jab. Cabral slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Hess looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Cabral cracks Hess with an open hand slap. Cabral with a jab. Hess's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cabral connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hess scrambles back to his feet. Hess gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cabral lands a jab to Hess's midsection. Hess is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Cabral moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Awaiz Cabral!
