This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 17 losses; Trip Fontaine!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Fontaine changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mason tries to avoid it but Fontaine manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mason to the ground. Mason escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mason tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fontaine manages to circle out of the way.

Mason rushes Fontaine and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Fontaine drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mason gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Fontaine wants to take the fight to the mat but Mason manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Gunner Mason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trip Fontaine.

Mason pulls guard.
Fontaine is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fontaine is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fontaine is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mason has a hand on Fontaine's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Fontaine takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Fontaine slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Fontaine looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Mason is really struggling to control Fontaine but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Fontaine is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fontaine has his foot on Mason's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mason works his way back into a safe position though.

Fontaine is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mason rolls with it to try and escape but Fontaine cranks on the arm and Mason is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
