Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Plier (ranked 5622 p4p, 5410 weight class) and Alex Mclean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peter Plier has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter Plier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Mclean! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mclean shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Plier's guard. Mclean advances to half guard. Mclean is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Mclean wants to work for an arm triangle but Plier is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mclean content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mclean's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mclean is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Plier has managed to free his arm - good work. Plier is defending against the submission attempts here by Mclean.
Mclean looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Mclean looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Plier with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mclean moves into full mount! Plier won't be happy about that! Mclean controlling the pace for now. Mclean lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Mclean raining down shots from the mount! Mclean takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Mclean landing strikes, looking to finish! Mclean has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mclean has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Plier's face.
Mclean is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Plier has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Plier takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Mclean is landing with some decent strikes but Plier is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Mclean with a couple of short strikes. Mclean tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mclean with the ground and pound from mount. Mclean is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Plier tries to keep at a distance but Mclean has taken the fight into the clinch. Mclean pulls guard effortlessly. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mclean is looking for a triangle but Plier pushes his legs off easily.
Mclean pushes a forearm under Plier's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Plier is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Alex Mclean! After winning the bout, Alex Mclean thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
