Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Yoda (ranked 4833 p4p, 4648 weight class) and Solly North (ranked 473 p4p, 457 weight class). Solly North is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
North throws out a powerful jab.
Jimmy Yoda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yoda moves into the clinch.

North pulls Yoda into guard.
Yoda controls from within his opponent's guard.
Yoda would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Yoda not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
North lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yoda looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! North has picked Yoda up and slammed him! Yoda can't keep hold of the triangle and North manages to pass to side control!
Yoda is looking to get back to his feet here but North is keeping cool and he's managed to take Yoda's back.

Yoda is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Yoda's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Yoda has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
North is trying to maintain the position but Yoda is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yoda remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
North tries to buck Yoda off but Yoda is having none of it.

Yoda has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
North connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Yoda's hands.
North fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yoda manages to avoid it.

Yoda throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. North tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Yoda is in North's guard.

North bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

North wants to control but Yoda is keeping him busy.

North looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Yoda is concentrating on defense, preventing North from advancing position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Yoda closes the distance and clinches.
North wants to stall.
North looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Yoda turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
North wants to control but Yoda postures up.
Yoda happy to just control the position for now.
Yoda seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down North for as long as he can get away with.
North tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Yoda presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

North moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Yoda controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Yoda stands and throws North's legs to the side, diving into side control.
North tries to improve position but can't.
Yoda tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yoda, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
