Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Danza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hatt Mughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danza comes to the cage accompanied by Who's the Boss. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Danza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hatt Mughes!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danza throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mughes misses with a shot to the body

and Danza counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mughes won't be happy with that.
Mughes is trying to get back to half guard.

Danza tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Danza has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Mughes is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Danza is working for a kimura but Mughes is defending it quite comfortably.
Mughes manages to get to full guard.
Mughes lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Danza!
Danza sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Mughes is thwarting Danza's attempts to control the position.
Danza moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Danza keeping moving, preventing Mughes from controlling successfully.
Mughes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Mughes drops back looking for a leg! Danza is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Danza manages to kick Mughes off! Mughes jumps back into Danza's guard.

Danza had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mughes is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Danza Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mughes's back instead.

Danza patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Danza not allowing Mughes to control his hands.

You can see the frustration on Mughes's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mughes is stalling here. Danza is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mughes seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Danza has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Danza wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mughes, who protects the arm well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mughes throws a body punch but Danza moves out of range.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Danza fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Danza takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Mughes scores with a hook to the body. Danza takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

and Danza counters with a shoot takedown. Mughes fights it but they end up in guard.
Mughes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Danza's guard.
Mughes is pushing down on Danza's leg trying to pass to half guard. Danza is fighting to maintain full guard but Mughes has managed to sneak the leg through.
Danza is in trouble now - Mughes has advanced to mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mughes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Danza kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tony Danza will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Mughes is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Danza can't fight it off and eventually Mughes manages to take the fight to the floor. Danza looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Mughes postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Danza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mughes, into his guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tony Danza.
Well Danza has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
