Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kamil Khadziev (ranked 2622 p4p, 4007 weight class) and Paul Sanchez (ranked 265 p4p, 384 weight class). Kamil Khadziev could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Paul Sanchez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kamil Khadziev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Sanchez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khadziev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Khadziev closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sanchez's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sanchez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Khadziev is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Sanchez lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Khadziev wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Sanchez.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez has hold of Khadziev's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Khadziev manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Khadziev tries to buck Sanchez off but he can't manage it.
Sanchez lands a nice shot to the head.
Sanchez lands with some strikes.
You get the feeling that Khadziev really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Sanchez cracks Khadziev with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Sanchez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Khadziev looks a forlorn figure.

Sanchez lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Khadziev hang on?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sanchez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Khadziev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sanchez is fending him off so far but Khadziev persists. Nope, Sanchez circles away and we're back to standing.
Sanchez follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Khadziev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sanchez defends it nicely.

Khadziev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sanchez as he jumps to the side.
Sanchez looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kamil Khadziev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up with Khadziev, looking for a takedown. Sanchez pushes Khadziev against the cage but Khadziev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kamil Khadziev will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Khadziev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sanchez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Khadziev somewhat.

Khadziev fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sanchez to the ground. Khadziev is now in Sanchez's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sanchez holds on and takes a little breather.

Sanchez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Khadziev defends it easily.

Khadziev is taking a breather. Sanchez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sanchez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Khadziev.
Kamil Khadziev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kamil Khadziev.
I think Khadziev has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
