Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Polks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Polks comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I Gotta Feeling! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rickson Machado had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rickson Machado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jackson Polks! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Polks misses. Polks looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Machado lands with a straight right. Polks didn't see that one coming. Machado misses with a double jab.
Polks falls off balance throwing a combination
and Machado counters with a shoot takedown. Polks fights it but they end up in guard. Machado sitting in guard, not really doing much. Machado pushes down on Polks's leg and manages to get into half guard. Machado is figuring out what he wants to do next. Polks wants to get back to his feet.
Machado wants to free his trapped foot but Polks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machado is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Polks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Machado. Machado is trying to work for a kimura but Polks is defending well.
Machado is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Polks is just riding it out for now. Machado eventually gives up the hold. Machado is looking for a kimura but Polks is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Machado to get the leverage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machado wants to free his trapped foot but Polks is holding on for dear life with his legs. Machado controlling the pace. Machado tries to pass the half guard into mount. Polks knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Machado looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machado has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Polks defend it? Machado steps over the head and cranks it - Polks is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Machado!
