The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Elvul bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Ibrahim's face as Elvul controls the position. Ibrahim can't do much from the bottom here. Ibrahim is trying to get back to half guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Ibrahim sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Elvul takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Ibrahim is not content to let Elvul control the position. Elvul wants to pass the guard but Ibrahim is defending well. Ibrahim trying to control but Elvul postures up.
Elvul is controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ibrahim has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Elvul is working away from the top position though. Ibrahim is looking for a sweep. Elvul is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Elvul passes into side control, despite Ibrahim's attempt to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Elvul engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Ibrahim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Elvul tries to free his leg and advance position but Ibrahim is retaining full guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Elvul preventing the sweep. Elvul is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ibrahim has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Elvul is looking to defend but Ibrahim has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Elvul! Ibrahim pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Elvul taps out and this one is all over!
