Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Borgia clinches up with Makarov and pushes him back against the cage. Makarov is trying to trip Borgia. He has hold of a leg but Borgia is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Makarov persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Borgia has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Makarov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Makarov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Makarov is looking to pass into half guard but Borgia pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Borgia is in guard. Borgia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Makarov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Borgia is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! What can Makarov do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
